In 1989 Lola Hats was established in a small storefront space in the East Village. The designer and founder, Lola Ehrilich draws upon her bohemian upbringing for inspiration. She had little formal education when she was school aged, married young and traveled all over the world until landing in New York.
Her studio is now located in Bushwick, Brooklyn where most of the hats are made. She loves large brims and all colors and insists hats be travel friendly. Ehrlich contends that one should be able to fold the hat in their case and have it come out just fine to wear.
